Mystery Box Policy
Everything to know before you unbox: how our mystery dumplings work, what is covered if something is wrong, and what is not. Please read this before buying a mystery box or blind bag.
It is a surprise
Mystery boxes and blind bags are random. You cannot choose, request, or be guaranteed a specific color, design, or character.
No "not my favorite" returns
Because the item is random, we cannot accept returns or refunds just because you did not get the design you hoped for, or received a duplicate.
Defects are always covered
Damaged, faulty, or incorrect items are covered. Report them within 5 days of delivery with photos and we will make it right.
How our mystery boxes work
Our mystery boxes, blind bags, and random assortments contain squishy dumplings selected at random. The exact color, design, or character is a surprise revealed when you unbox.
- You cannot choose, request, or be guaranteed a specific item.
- Duplicates can occur, especially in multi-packs and repeat purchases. This is part of the fun (and the gamble) of collecting.
- Product photos on a mystery listing show the possible range you might receive. They are not a promise of one specific item.
By purchasing a mystery item, you confirm that you understand and accept that the contents are random.
What is covered
If something is genuinely wrong with your order, we will always help. The following are covered when reported within 5 days of delivery:
- Faulty or defective items with a flaw that affects the product (for example a tear, a structural defect, or a squishy that does not work as intended).
- Items damaged in transit in a way that affects the product itself.
- Wrong or missing item compared to what your order confirmed (for example a 3-pack that arrived with only 2 squishies).
We guarantee every product is brand new and carefully packed. Minor cosmetic imperfections such as slight color variation, light marks, small seam differences, or paint bubbles are normal for handcrafted-style squishies and are not considered defects.
Due to international shipping, minor cosmetic damage to outer packaging may occur and is not covered (special or limited editions excluded). If the damage significantly affects the product itself, please follow the claim steps below.
What is not covered
- Change of mind or personal preference — receiving a color or character that is "not your favorite," or that you "no longer want," is not eligible for return or refund.
- Duplicates from random multi-packs or repeat mystery purchases.
- Items showing signs of use, or missing parts, packaging, or accessories.
- Bulk or corporate orders of more than 10 units.
- Orders not placed directly on this website. If you bought from another seller or marketplace, please contact them for support.
4 simple steps for a mystery box claim
- Contact us through our Contact page with your order number and details.
- Send photos of any faulty, damaged, or incorrect item (at least 2 clear photos, marking each defect).
- We review and instruct you to either return or simply dispose of the item(s).
- Receive your refund or replacement once we have confirmed everything.
How to request support
To help us resolve your claim quickly, please include:
- Your order number (or a payment / order confirmation screenshot).
- At least 2 clear photos showing the issue. If there are several defects, include a photo of each area with the defect marked and a short explanation.
Send everything in a single request through our Contact page so we can review it in one go.
Processing & refunds
- Approved refunds are processed within 3 to 7 business days after we receive the returned item, or after we confirm the issue for items you were asked to dispose of.
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method (credit card, debit card, PayPal, etc.) and may not appear until your next billing cycle.
- Defective items receive a full refund or a free replacement. For non-defect cases, refunds exclude shipping and handling, and return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
- Exchanges and replacements depend on product availability.
For general (non-mystery) returns, the standard rules on our Returns & Refund page apply, including the 14-day return window.
Good to know
This Mystery Box Policy applies specifically to mystery boxes, blind bags, and randomly selected items. It exists to keep things fair: the surprise is the whole point, so random outcomes and duplicates are part of the experience and cannot be returned for preference.
Customer service is available for orders placed directly on Squishy Dumpling Co. This policy is provided in good faith and should be read together with our Returns & Refund policy and Terms & Conditions, which govern any purchase.
