One hand is enough: press the dumpling flat, and it takes a few slow seconds to come back to shape, which is long enough to give restless fingers something to do without pulling attention off the board. Which size actually fits in a pencil case
Mini is 5.5 cm and that is the one to buy for school. It sits in a pencil case next to the pens, disappears into a coat pocket and is small enough that nobody notices it. Classic is 8 to 10 cm, better for a desk at home or a bedside shelf than for a bag. The Large and Giant sizes are display pieces, not something to carry around. If you are buying for a younger child, stay with the plain single-colour minis: fewer parts, easier grip.

The mystery boxes are the ones that travel. 1Are these allowed in class?
That is your teacher's call, but they are about as classroom-friendly as a fidget gets: completely silent, no clicking, no moving parts and nothing that rolls off a desk. A mini fits in a closed hand, so it is discreet.

2Which size fits in a pencil case?
The Mini, at 5.5 cm. It sits alongside pens without taking the space of a whole compartment. The 8 to 10 cm Classic size is better suited to a desk at home.

3Will it survive being thrown in a backpack?
Yes. There are no batteries, no electronics and nothing to snap off, and the TPR skin takes being squashed under books. Keep it away from open pen nibs and out of a car in full sun, which is what actually damages a squishy.

5Do they make any noise?
No. There is no click, no snap and no squeaker. The only sound is the fabric-soft press of the foam, which is why they work where a clicking fidget does not.
